  • old skool spoon carving w/ soren mitchell of the natural free human beings

    Sun, March 24, 2019 @ 12:00 pm - 3:00 pm

from host, soren mitchell : " Learn the basics of whittling and create your own spoon from a hunk of wood. It’s truly amazing what can happen in a short period of time with a knife and a piece of a tree, all of a sudden you’re making your own tools for the kitchen, dining table and more. Throughout human history people have shaped the natural elements around them into tools for practical and enjoyable lives. It sure does seem that people are happiest when they are making beautiful things with their hands, In no time your whole house can be filled with hand made treasures that may oneday be passed on to folks you haven’t or might not ever meet. The simple pleasures of life are not to be underestimated. Soren will guide a workshop through the basics of whittling and carving and you will leave with a hand made spoon of your own design. Materials will be provided and tools as well, unless you have a favorite knife. A suggested donation of twenty-five dollars is recommended."

Scott Hirsch "After decades of wandering, the former Court & Spark and Hiss Golden Messenger member follows his wanderlust West again, where he puts down new roots for his soulful folk-rock sound.” - Pitchfork Hod & The Helpers [VIDEO] "There’s a lot happening with this alt-folk band. One minute, there are sweet harmonies sprinkled on top of swing rhythms. Then there’s a swell of vocal power... howling about the cynicism of men or maintaining a healthy skepticism.” - Monterey County Weekly Mia Riddle "Ghostly folk tint and country rumble… intricate structures of introspective wonder, stretching to get to a point where there's just a little more certainty to believe in." -
