What is Little Footprints?

Little Footprints is a monthly gathering on the last sunday of each month focused on ways to more gently impact our environment: talks, docs, & group projects in collaboration with local environmental leaders around ideas such as permaculture, grey water, alternative energy, upcycling, bicycle advocacy, food awareness, sabbath economics, reducing single use products, supporting & creating reusables, sustainable farming, carpooling, co-housing, & other sensible sensibilities. walk the talk by joining in a plastic free organic pot luck. all ages welcome.

Part 1 : Clean Up
We hope some of you can join us in partnering with the Surfrider Foundation Ventura County Chapter on Saturday morning (10/28) from 9-11am at California St. for a beach clean up! We will also be hosting a Sunday morning (10/29) riverbed cleanup from 9-11am at the Ventura River Preserve at Rice Rd.

Part 2 : Community Craft 1-3pm
Come down to Greater Goods & help us assemble a giant fish made from the plastic waste collected at the beach & the river. We will provide tools & materials.

Part 3 : Plastic-Free Potluck 3-4pm
Bring your own dishes, utensils, & cloth napkins if you can. We will have extras as well. As much as possible, please try to bring local, organic food.

Part 4 : DIY Household Items Workshop 4-5pm
Learn how to make your own toothpaste, all purpose cleaner & more. We will have extra ingredients & mason jars on hand.

Part 5 : Halloween Costume Swap & Holiday Dialogue 5-6pm
Pass on your unwanted Halloween gear & claim someone old mask as your new one! we will also talk about ways we can minimize the takeover of candy & consumerism in our holidays.

Part 6 : Screening of “The Smog of the Sea” 6:30-7pm
Dive into the beautiful, troubling, & inspiring documentary by Ian Cheney, with assistance from Jack Johnson, 5 Gyres, others. the film will be followed by a discussion with the Marcus Eriksen & Anna Cummins of 5 Gyres, both of whom have made a huge impact in turning the tide away from single use plastics.
